Twenty Twenty-Three - To My Kindred Souls Since the Last December

The year is coming to a close. I hope you’re proud of how far you’ve gone and optimistic about the future, and I’d like to thank you for your incredible support and input. I am thankful for the opportunity to share my art and world with you. You’ve been more than simply a spectator to my art and being. You have been my loyal allies, faithful friends, and kindred souls. You have inspired, challenged, and motivated me. You have made me feel valued and seen. You have made this year one to remember.

Perhaps we’ve caught glimpses of lows and highs throughout the last 364 days. Inflation, climate catastrophes, social conflicts, and political upheaval have all occurred. So, what were our highlights of the year? What were the moments that made us smile, laugh, or cry? What were the lessons that shaped our minds, hearts, or souls? What were the challenges that tested our resilience, courage, or faith? What are the most important things we will relish and be grateful for in 2023?

Whatever the answers are, we woke daily, felt the sun’s warmth in our faces, and experienced countless simple, subtle, undeniable joys. We stayed optimistic and strong. We made it through. Dualism is two sides of the same coin, as is the art of being and living. Every situation, remarkable experience, good or unpleasant, provides opportunities to learn and grow. Every difficulty, whether great or small, is an opportunity to learn and grow. Every precious moment is a gift, no matter how joyous or sad. The simple joys still matter.

I hope we remember that life is full of contrasts as we enter the next 366 days. So, we keep reminding ourselves, “What makes life meaningful and enjoyable?” A warm hug? An engrossing book? A sunny day? Though simple, these are some of the significant little things.

Let us close the year with gratitude and enter the new year with grace. Let our simplicity be a source of happiness and delight for us. I wish you a happy and fantastic new year. Leave room for magic. Leave room for magic.

Until the new year, xoxo.
